Isn't this stuff cool? It's kind of like J.Crew jewelry on steroids. But unlike at J.Crew, each of these pieces is one of a kind.

doloris petnunia jewelry
Doloris Petunia makes the coolest jewelry. Granted most of it is wayyy out of my price range, but I'll just pretend that sharing it here is the equivalent of owning some :)

Happy Birthday, L.L. Bean!
L.L. Bean is celebrating 100 years in business! As a Mainer, I feel a certain sense of pride in that - even though I have absolutely nothing to do with L.L Bean's success. Maybe someday I'll live out my dream of working at one of the highly-coveted behind-the-scenes headquarters jobs, but until then, I'll celebrate with everyone else. And maybe with a pair of these awesome boots? (I have a birthday coming up too, you know...)
Happy Birthday, L.L. Bean!

pendleton point blanket cape

| Urban Outfitters late fall - photography by Tim Barber |
When I saw this picture floating around in the blogosphere, I freaked out. That looked suspiciously like a point blanket cape to me. Pendleton and HBC blankets are everywhere these days and I couldn't be happier about it.
When I learned that the cape is being sold at Urban Outfitters, I was really excited about the prospect of owning one. Then I saw the $228 price tag. Womp, womp.

home and calypso st. barth
We're back! The trip was great! I haven't had the chance to upload photos yet. But I promise I will soon. In the meantime, here are a few of my favorite looks from the Calypso St. Barth September 2011 lookbook.
The temperatures have cooled down in Kansas City, which is making me feel very excited about all things autumnal. I am actually chilly and wearing socks right now! While unpacking, I am working on switching summer and winter clothing in my closet (a little anyway - I'm sure a few hot days are still waiting for us) and these looks were just what I needed for fall clothing inspiration!

rogues gallery
I dragged Dan out to the Old Port to peruse my favorite shops. Just when he was starting to hit his shopping limit, I coerced (more like forced) him into going to just one more shop with me - Rogues Gallery. Catering to men's fashion (although I must admit they sell many items that I would like for myself), Rogues Gallery was the perfect last stop for Dan.

Of course, the coincidences didn't stop there. I'm pretty sure the phrases "small world" and "parallel lives" were dropped a dozen times. Adam (the guy working at RG) is living in Maine with his girlfriend for the summer and fixing up her family home on an island. Not unlike what Dan and I did last summer. He also used to live in Colorado. And, he was heading back to Kansas City the following weekend to go to a wedding, while we were in town from Kansas City for a wedding. I think there were some more random connections, but they have since slipped from my memory.
Great clothes, lots of plaid, and a fellow Midwesterner - Rogues Gallery was just what the doctor ordered for tired Dan.

fall wish list
Here are a few of the things I'm coveting for fall. Now I just need to get a job so I can afford to buy them. Sounds easy enough, right?
1. Desert boots from Clark's
2. Green gingham shirt
3. A silk dress with a unique silhouette from L.L. Bean Signature. (I tried this on at the store and it is awesome!)
4. Fall TOMS
6. The perfect animal print pumps
7. A new scarf perhaps?
8. A simple watch from J.Crew and Timex
9. My new favorite sweater! Complete with a duck motif, where could it be from? L.L. Bean Signature, obvi. I tried this on too. I'm happy to say it lived up to my very high expectations.
10. And last, but certainly not least, an awesome pair of Warby Parker glasses
What do you think? What is on your wish list for fall?

vacationland bound
| I cannot wait to see this sign! |
I spent all night packing - it's hard to pack when you're going to be away for so long!- and came up with a little Maine clothing guide too. Beach cover-ups, nautical inspired tops, flats and wedges for the cobblestone streets, a great tote made from recycled sails, and of course lots and lots of bracelets! I don't actually own all of these items, but I certainly wish I did!
