a pastel spring

I wrote a post for The Loud and Clear on Monday about how pastels are going to be huge this spring for interiors.  I've been so into them lately, that I thought I'd share a few more pictures with you here.  It was almost 70 degrees in Kansas City. We haven't had much of a winter here, and while I do love a good snowfall, I'm willing to sacrifice it just this once. Bring on spring!

Ahhhh. Those painted tolix chairs are possibly the best thing I've seen in a long time.  Obsessed. And even after a mild non-existant winter, all of this color feels so fresh and envigorating.  Don't you think?

It turns out Lynsey's boyfriend is almost as cool as she is (sorry, Ryan, but it's true :). He and his creative studio, MORE & CO., which was also founded by MAV and CDR, do amazing work.  Seriously.  We're talking Starbucks campaigns, local publications, book design, photography and video...you name it, they do it.  And they do it well.  Plus they seem to have a darn good time while they're at it.

ralph eugene meatyard

The Fraenkel Gallery in San Francisco has displayed almost 300 exhibitions of photography or relating to photography since 1979.  Dedicated to representing photography from every angle, the Fraenkel Gallery does not shy away from artists that may lie a bit off the beaten path.  Ralph Eugene Meatyard's photography is just that - Meatyard pushed the boundaries of photography from the 1950's to the 1970's, experimenting with focus and exposure.  I find the photographs of his family and friends wearing masks to be quite haunting.  His selection of natural and abandoned locations only enhances the eerie ambiance.

blog love: a cup of jo (and organized photography)

Coming home from vacation I am overwhelmed by all the wonderful things to catch up on in the blogosphere!  One of my all-time favorite blogs, A Cup of Jo, written by Joanna Goddard had quite a few new posts that I like so much I felt an urgent need to share them here.  First up, this one about Swiss artist Ursus Wehrli's new book, The Art of Clean Up.  It features everyday scenes organized into neat rows.  Obviously, I am obsessed.

How amazing are these images?! And how time consuming? Just look at all of those alphabet noodles.  This definitely speaks to my obsessive need to organize and make lists.  Also, at first I thought I was really smart and had picked up on a mistake in the picture of the bowl with the fruit.  The bowl in the first picture has polka dots, whereas the turned over one does not.  Then I realized, the dots are in a line too!
